Alberta Opportunity Stream

Skilled Workers who are already working or have a job offer in entitled occupation from the province of Alberta in Canada can effortlessly apply for Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) through this stream (employ-driven) who meet the requirement of minimum eligibility.   • Have a Valid work permit

  • Have a high School diploma, and
  • have 12 months of work experience in Alberta in the last 18 months, or have 24 months of work experience in Canada in the last 30 months.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

Applicants who have already filed and submitted their profile in any of the “Federal – Express Entry” online application programs, i.e. Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Applicants are being nominated directly by the Government of Alberta to meet the increasing demand of the job market where additional 600 points are added in Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which almost ensures that you will be invited to apply for permanent residency visa in the next “Express Entry” draw. AINP conducts the regular round of draws where candidates are selected from a “Federal Express Entry” pool based on the requirement of specific profile from in-demand occupation list, which keeps changing as per the requirement of Job Market. Individuals with links to Alberta and the required talents to contribute to the province's growth in the economy may be asked to apply by the province.

Candidates with Express Entry profiles may get a Notification of Interest (NOI) promptly from the Alberta government through the federal system. Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway

The Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway is a priority immigration system for technology professionals who have a profile in the federal government's Express Entry system and are eligible for the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Individuals, who have decided and match their stream's eligibility requirements, are invited to submit an online form on the AAIP web portal in order to be assessed under this stream. If the applicant satisfies the minimal qualifying conditions, the AAIP invites the candidate to seek for a provincial nomination. Candidates who are currently employed or have a job offer with an Alberta technology industry employer in an approved tech occupation and fulfil the qualifications for the Alberta Express Entry stream can begin the application process under the accelerated pathway. Rural Renewal Stream

Candidates who have a job offer from an employer in Alberta, to work in rural communities in Alberta are eligible for the Rural Renewal Stream. Candidates in this stream must first get the endorsement of a participating community in Alberta. Employers send job offers to designated communities, and the community is responsible for verifying that the individual satisfies the stream requirements. After receiving the letter of support, the foreign national submits their application to the AAIP.

    To apply for this stream, you must

  • Have a valid full-time job offer or employment contract from an Alberta company to work in a qualified occupation in a specified community.
  • Have at least 12 months of full-time work experience in an approved occupation in the 18 months before your application and this work experience might include the time spent in Alberta, elsewhere in Canada, or internationally.
  • Meet minimum language requirements.
  • Have a high school certificate corresponding to the Canadian educational standard is required, and
  • Show that they have enough money to maintaion themesleves and other family meembers who will be relocating to the designated region.

International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream

International graduates of Alberta post-secondary institutions can apply for permanent residence. The International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream (IGEIS) allows Alberta to nominate qualified international graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions who want to establish or operate a business in Alberta to apply for permanent residence.

The AAIP continues to accept and process applications and Expressions of Interest (EOIs), with temporary adjustments to some application and assessment processes. You must collaborate with a designated agency if you are interested in this programme. If you satisfy the conditions, this organisation will write you a recommendation letter. You will next be required to submit your letter of reference together with their Expression of Interest (EOI) via the AAIP web Portal. In addition, the agency will offer you with a written report on their evaluation of your suggested business strategy. This report must be submitted together with your application. Empowered Startups and Platform Calgary has been appointed as the approved agency.

    To apply for this stream, you must

  • Have minimum of six months full-time job experience managing and/or running a business is required.
  • Have a business strategy that includes predicted financials,
  • Have a post-secondary education from a foreign institution, and have an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
  • 10-minute slide-only presentation that introduces the business and specifies what an investor is looking for.
  • Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLb) level of at least 5.
  • If the firm is located in an urban centre, it must at least 34% ownership or at least 51% ownership if it is located outside of Calgary or Edmonton,
  • The degree must have been earned within the previous 10 years.
  • Have a letter of recommendation from an AAIP-approved agency,
  • Have enough money to start their business and maintaion themselves and their families in Canada.
  • Have a minimum investement of $100,000 is required for a metropolitan Cente and $50,000 for a regional location. For larger investments, more pointss are granted. These can be funded by your own money or by a well-known Canadian financial institution, venture capital business, or angel investment firm.

Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

The Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream in Alberta is designed for international graduates of recognized Alberta post-secondary schools who want to start or run a business in the province. Candidates who are interested in applying must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the AAIP online portal. Within 30 days, you will be given an EOI score, post that the top candidates will be requested to submit a Business Application. A Business Application must be filed and completed within 90 days of receiving an email of invitation to submit the same along with the required and relevant documents.

    To apply for this stream, you must

  • Have at least two years full time education in Alberta
  • Have a valid Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) at time of application
  • Have a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7, and
  • Start a new company or run an existing one with at least 34% ownership

Rural Entrepreneur Stream

The Rural Entrepreneur Stream is a scheme for economic immigration. Entrepreneurs, in rural communities in Alberta, who wish to establish a business or purchase an existing one, can file an Expression of Interest. Candidates who are interested in a specific rural Alberta community may contact the community contact person to discuss their business concept and arrange for an exploratory visit. Each community's method for organizing an exploratory visit will have their own process. Communities maintain the right to meet with just those potential entrepreneurs who they believe are a good fit for them. Candidates who applied using our online portal must now request a nomination extension through the platform.

Self-Employed Farmer Stream

Individuals with farming work experience and personal funds to develop and acquire a farm are eligible to apply for permanent residence in Alberta. Applicants must be farm operators or owners who want to live in the province to manage and own their farming operation. This stream is for entrepreneurs who have the financial resources and farm management experience to establish a new or purchase an existing farm in Alberta. Here, candidates need to prove if they have satisfactory knowledge of working on an agriculture farm and should have a minimum net worth of funds of at least $500,000 CAD.

Candidates must submit their application, along with a proposed business plan, to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) for assessment and wait to receive a decision. The AAIP makes its judgement after consulting alongside Alberta Agriculture and Forestry to verify and ensure that the business strategy is realistic and that the project fulfils the needs of the Alberta agriculture industry. If you obtain a favorable decision, you must then procure the mandatory documentation and fill out the necessary forms for both the Alberta government and Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

  • Have skills in farm management,
  • Have sufficient financial resources with minimum investment of $500,000 CAD,
  • Have a suggested business strategy including investment plans.
